'Kafue is the oldest National Park in Zambia'
'The second largest National Park in Africa and the sixth largest in the world.'
Kafue River Lodge is based in the Lunga Luswishi Game Management area bordering Kafue National Park. The lodge is set on 143 Hectares of private land. We are very lucky to have a range of biomes around us, from miombo woodland to plains, dambos, teak forests, each supporting great numbers of game and excellent birding. Most of our activities are operated inside Kafue National Park, we do also offer safaris in Mushingashi, Lunga Luswishi and we have good access to Busanga Plains when the water levels are down.
The lodge has been operating since the 90’s, in 2015 we decided it was time for a new face so the old structures were knocked down and we rebuilt the lodge. We brought in skilled workers from all over Zambia to help us with the project. Al of our materials were sourced from within Zambia and we have created a beautiful product. Over the years, the company has put in massive support to the community. Projects mostly focusing around Jifumpa area of Kasempa have seen improvements to the school and clinic and importantly we have been very actively involved with conservation. We work alongside Zawa and other organisations in the field.
